Horse assisted communication & management seminars

for professional and personal development

How effective is your communication and leadership style?

Key competencies for personal and business success

The requirements in everyday work for executives and teams are extremely high. In addition to professional expertise, communication skills lead to personal and business success. If misunderstandings or conflicts disturb the basis for trustful communicating with superiors, employees, colleagues or clients a negative spiral starts to destroy successful cooperation.

Optimising communication skills by reflecting personal communication- und behaviour patterns

The word „consequence“ has its roots in the latin word „consequentia“ and means: the logical effect, decidedness, adequateness. Inconsequence, in latin „inconsequentia“, means: imprudence, contrariness. The aim of our horse assisted communication- and management seminars is to reflect and optimize the consequences - which means the logical effects - of communication and behaviour of the participants in business and private context, to reduce inconsequence, which means imprudence and contrariness and with this also the negative spiral of human interaction.

Methodology: Practical task - transfer - theory

Each participant works pratically in an obstacle course with „his“ horse by the hand (no riding!). The experienced communication and interaction with the horse is analysed and transferred to the personal and business context in a transfer conversation. In addition, the learned will be supported by scientific background theories, with the aim to secure a sustainable transfer to the working live.

Outdoor training with horses a neurobiologically effective learning method

While far away from seminar locations, offi ce work and city life, real communication and leadership tasks (no simulation, role-playing, etc.) give the participants the opportunity to get to know more about their own communication and behavioral patterns, to refl ect on and to optimize them. Working with horses offers an ideal environment to set thinking and acting impulses free, since animals demand a maximum of empathy and capacity to assert oneself appropriately, with authenticity as well as presence. Cooperating or boycotting are the direct answers of the horses to the communication and the behaviour of the participants. This direct, neutral and natural feedback mechanism of the horses has a higher acceptability for the participants as human feedback and helps them to recognize and accept their patterns and boundaries faster.

Active learning with horses in nature creates situations, that touch the participants emotionally. These situations provide the key and create the ideal environment for effective and sustainable learning.. In addition we provide scientific background information to understand the processes following latest studies of  researchers like Prof. Dr. Gerald Hüther Uniklinik Göttingen, Prof. Joachim Bauer Uniklinik Freiburg, Prof. Dr. Dr. M. Spitzer Uniklinik Ulm as well as on equine behavioral like Prof. Konstanze Krüger Hochschule Nürtingen-Gesilingen, Germany.

Learning from nature – Learning with horses

As prey- and flight animals, horses possess a highly sensitive awareness of sending and receiving messages, which is essential for their survival. Because of their extremely consequent communication patterns, they are valuable training partners. In the wild they depend on the protection of the herd. Clear hierarchies are based on the key competencies of each herd member, even today with domesticated horses.

Studying this, provides for the participants demonstration material from nature about consequent communication, natural hierarchies, group behaviour, leadership, respect, fairness etc.. In addition to the development of communication skills, it also poses the question about which attitude we want to adopt vis-àvis our fellow human beings, our work, our company and our lives.
